What a month and a semester of mobile data cost in 20 countries students often go to, from the plans we track, cheapest first. Use it to have data the moment you land, and to decide whether a local SIM is worth it later.
A travel eSIM works on arrival with no local address, bank account or ID, so you can reach your housing, maps and banking from the airport.
A plan valid 90 days or more covers the term on one eSIM, from $12.59. With heavy use, a local SIM can be cheaper per GB once you are settled.
Your phone must be unlocked and support eSIM: check your model. Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi so it is ready when you land.
The cheapest plan by price alone in each column: a month means valid 30+ days with 20 GB or more; the unlimited column is the cheapest unlimited plan valid 30+ days; a semester means valid 90+ days with 20 GB or more (or unlimited). The cheapest month on the list is $10.09 in South Korea.
